Q1: Since this is weather resistant does that mean it is mildew resistant?
A: This polyester hammock will stand up well to the elements but if you want to really protect against mildew - then Sunbrella is your best choice. Check out TOH009, TOH010 for example - Sunbrella or Duracord material repels water and doesn't allow to be soaked up, making it difficult for mildew to take hold.
Q2: Does the hammock come with the stand?
A: The sku - ALZ080 is the hammock, pillow, hanging hardware - no stand included. The stand can be purchased during checkout.
Q3: What does "Durable weather-resistant outdoor fabric" mean? I live on an island so humidity and sea salt tend to take their toll on everything. Mildew is a big problem.
A: The fabric is rated to be used outdoors and can hold up to the elements. Granted, this hammock would need to be cared for to extend it's lifespan and ideally for any hammock, we recommend taking down in poor weather and always dried out completely vs. ever storing when damp to prohibit the growth of mildew. This is a good hammock but if you have concerns on humidity, sea salt, and mildew - this would not be our top pick. If you are looking for a solid hammock - fabric or what the look of the original hammock you picked - look for Sunbrella hammocks. Sunbrella is an awesome material that's specifically rated to repel moisture so it does well to hold off mildew + it's rated to keep it's color against the sun's UV rays as well. Check out item#s: TOH001, TOH004, TOH005, TOH006. Quick Dry hammocks are similar but while they dry quickly may not have the longevity of sunbrella and don't typically repel mildew quite as well. If you are open to rope hammocks - then polyester is your friend. Rope comes in cotton or polyester - cotton = comfort but not great for the conditions you are listing. Polyester however stands up extremely well to humidity, salt air and doesn't absorb as much water so mildew is kept to a minimum. For rope, item#s: HIB01 or HIB03 are our perennial favorites.
Q4: With this hammock, what kind of stand do i need and how do you keep it clean?
A: This hammock works great with our top metal stand - HSHS10 - or if you want a wood stand, I'd recommend KV034. To wash or clean, simply spot clean or scrub with a soft brush using warm, soapy water and hang to dry. Do not put product into washing machine, a tumble dryer, or clean with any harsh chemicals (including bleach). To prevent mildew, we recommend taking down your hammock and storing inside during inclement weather.
Q5: My frame measures less than 10 ft. from hook to hook, will this model work?
A: This hammock will be too large as the overall length is 11ft 5 inches.
