When choosing a hammock for your climate, your options on most hammocks are either cotton and nylon or cotton and polyester. Cotton is the most comfortable fabric, but cannot withstand an extreme amount of moisture or salt water air. Polyester and nylon fabrics both are very durable and strong and will withstand harsh elements. Both insects and animals can be a danger to your hammock. If you have many small rodents in your yard area, you'll want to consider a polyester hammocks, either rope or Nicaraguan. Or you may also consider a hammock without wood spreader bars and include the protective sleeve, which protects your hammock while hanging but not in use.
