I bought this hammock to be the centerpiece of an island themed room. It is perfect! You can see from the picture that the hammock looks great in the room and does not take up too much space. The room itself is 10x11 and the hammock is hung just to the left of the main entrance. I hung the main bolts 6 inches from the ceiling and 2 feet from the corners of the walls. This allowed the hammock to hang between my hip and knee when no one was in it which is what most sites recommended. I used a 1/4-inch drill bit to drill the holes and a 3/8-inch eye-bolt secured to the stud in the wall for hanging. I weigh around 170 and have had no issues with me and one other person in the hammock. I used a 21 inch length of chain with separate s hooks so I can adjust the hammock as needed. This way I can adjust height based on how much weight is in the hammock. Also, bolting near the ceiling and using the chains to lower the hammock allow space to walk under the hammock to the other side of the room without moving the hammock. The hammock is super comfortable and has plenty of room for me and others though I have only tried having two people in it.
Bottom line- I love my room. I would spend all my time in there if I could! PS- I recommend adding a palm tree to complete the island vibe.

I ordered this hammock and received it in one week as promised.
I was notified when it shipped.
It is very lsrge and you can wrap your self in it.
Very comfortable.
It will get dirty if left outside because it is off white in color and a cloth material, but I plan to keep it in my utility room and hang it when I want to use it.

Q1: My husband and I love mayan hammocks. We live in a townhouse without sufficient room outdoors to put one. We are creating a reading room with our spare bedroom and would love to put a mayan hammock in it but are leery of hanging one indoors. My husband weighs 225 lbs and is nervous about it falling. Do you have any suggestions?
A: The Mayan hammock itself will support your weight @ 250 lbs. without a problem. When you are hanging indoors – the main item to remember is getting your eye bolt centered in the ceiling joist. If the eye bolt isn’t centered, it may not support the weight load adequately. It may sound odd, but the same basic info to hang a Mayan hammock inside applies to a hammock chair we have on the site with a pdf instruction/overview sheet on hanging that may be beneficial. It gives the step by step instructions and info to hang (item# ALZ184) – this would be the same guide used for hanging your Mayan hammock. Hopefully this helps!
Q2: If I purchase a mazatlan mayan hammock and already have a frame, will i need anything else to be able to hang it from my frame?
A: If you already have a frame, you will need to see if the frame will accommodate a non-spreader bar hammock. Normally you don't need additional hardware with a non-spreader bar hammock when paired with our adjustable hammock stand (USI012) since the loops or rings at the end or edge of each side loop over the ends of the stand.
Q3: I am looking for a hammock that can support 750 lbs on a regular basis with a metal frame; as I do not have trees to use. Could you suggest some to me?
A: We don't have a metal stand that will support 750 lbs. at this time. We have thick-string Mayan hammocks - item #s: HA057 or HA055 which support 750 lbs. but the adjustable metal stand for this hammock - USI012 - isn't rated more than 350 lbs.
Q4: Can I get one in red?
