Using the same ancient diamond weave technique, this hammock is still dangerously comfortable. I hung the hammock in my bed room and use if for relaxing and watching movies. I really enjoy it and think it is great for the price I paid. I mostly just bought this hammock on an impulse buy since I never realized how affordable they were until I was browsing the internet into the early morning and ended up here. I was unsure about hanging it but I just used some 5/8ths thick eye-loop screws and a few 'S' hooks that I picked up at a hardware store along with a bit of chain. There were a few small frays in the nylon strings that support the bed, but it wasnt very bad and I used a lighter to melt them a bit so it wouldn't get worse. [...]

This hammock is supposed to support 3 adults with a 16ft long hammock base, but with just my husband and 5 year old child in it, they sank to the grass after just 10 minutes of sitting in it. Too long, too stretchy.

When I first bought this hammock, I brought it into the garage to store it in between uses. It lasted two summers like it was brand new. This past summer I left it out 24/7 and it weathered quickly. By the end of the summer it had started breaking up and the strings were unwinding. I LOVE this hammock, but you need to take good care of it. It is so comfortable and strong, but the sun and rain will ruin it so quickly.

This hammock is my replacement bed and couch and is a wonderful addition to my bedroom. It is huge (you could fit four people in it width ways). The uniquely woven design is comfortable and forms a perfect support for your spine.

I just set the hammock up with the adjustable stand I bought for it and this hammock is even better than I expected! If it is just one person in it, you can create a cocoon and really snuggle down. But if you are the only one in it and there is no one else around, be prepared to do some interesting gymnastics to get out of it!

Very comfortable indeed. I am 6'4" tall weighing 240 lbs and have had 3 lumbar surgeries so I had concerns that I could not tolerate the cradle effect, but to my delight it is not an issue. The first evening after I set it up out back I grabbed a couple pillows off my bed and went out back to give the hammock a go. Before I knew it 3 hours had passed and I had fallen asleep. Amazingly when I awoke my back was not sore one bit, which is more than I can say after sleeping in my expensive bed. I am seriously thinking about hanging the hammock in my bedroom to see if I might gradually make the transition out of a bed and into the hammock over time.

Love this hammock. I was thinking i may have to exchange it because i thought cloth would be more comfortable, but this tightly woven hammock is great. I have enjoyed it every day since i received it. I wish there was a sleeve available for it other than banana yellow. Instead, i purchased waterproof tent footprint from my local REI store and sewed my own in a neutral green.

Q1: How far apart do the trees need to be for best use

A: The minimum hanging distance is 9 ft. but closer to 12 ft. is ideal.

Q2: Is this hammock washable?

A: Occasional washing helps any kind of hammock, considering dirt and dust grind down fabrics over time. To machine wash your hammock, fold it in half so the ring ends meet, and tie the ends together with a cord. Tie up the other end, and fold once more in the middle. Put the bundle in a pillowcase and tie that up too. All this will prevent the hammock from tangling up in the wash. Use a mild detergent. Never use bleach, which deteriorates the cloth and strips helpful coatings from the fibers. Go ahead and use a little conditioner, which will help your hammock stay soft and smell good. Skip the dryer: it's best to air-dry your hammock. Just hang it back on it's frame or from you favorite tree. Don't store it wet, because mildew kills cotton. Hand washing is even gentler. Tie your hammock as described above to keep it from getting tangled. Fill a large sink or bathtub with room-temp water and add a little mild detergent. Again, no bleach. Agitate it gently with your hands until you feel it is clean. A little softener is nice when you rinse it, to keep it soft and fresh. Wring it gently, untie it, and hang it out to air-dry. Done!
