I bought this hammock to use in place of my queen size bed. I sleep during the day and work at night. So far it has been a joy to come home to and extremely comfortable. I use a fleece blanket to wrap up in, and a travel neck pillow, with my ipod and headphones throw on some tunes and drift away.

Simply amazing. Very very restful. All my friends wanna come over just to take a nap now. I will definitely be buying a couple more to hang in the backyard for guests and fun.

I trusted the Q/A from the site that said this hammock would fit in the Adjustable Hammock Stand for non-spreader bar hammocks that they sell. It doesn't. Hanging distance on the hammock reads: 14-17ft. and the stand is a max of 14.5ft. so I thought it might be close, but I trusted the sites answer and it was wrong. I wanted this hammock for my deck in the South Bay area, where the nights can be chilly, since it seemed like it would keep out the breeze, but it hangs down to the bar, even when the stand is at max extension. Since I don't have a way to mount it, I had to return the hammock and I'll be purchasing a different hammock that comes with one of the recommended sets. I will buy from this site, since the selection is best, but I was unimpressed with the bad advice. I just wanted to start lounging and the return has delayed that.

Comments about Ramahlo Textiles XL Brazilian Fabric Hammock:

I bought this hammock in place of a bed. It was much, much cheaper than having to get a bed frame, mattress, linens, pillows, etc. I think it was a great choice! It's beautiful, comfortable, and well-made. This is also the most eco-friendly choice, I think. At first it was difficult to get used to the gentle swinging (I get motion sickness quite quickly), but after a couple uses I don't really notice it anymore. I used a simple eye-hook and carabiner system to hang it, and it works just fine, sturdy enough for even two people in my apartment. I highly recommend this hammock and sleeping in hammocks in general.

Comments about Ramahlo Textiles XL Brazilian Fabric Hammock:

My teenage son decided he wanted a hammock for his bedroom. We got rid of his bed and purchased this hammock. He loves it. In fact, he goes to bed a bit earlier just so he can hang in his hammock. I've been known to sneak an afternoon nap in his hammock while he's away. It's like floating. Winter is coming and we live in snow country so we'll have to see if adding some warmer blankets will be enough to keep out the cold. Hanging it in the room was relatively simple. My son did it in a few minutes using eye-screws and carabeeners. Be sure to find the center of a stud. We hung it across his room which is about 12 ft. He is almost 6 ft tall and fits very comfortably. He likes that he can wrap the sides of the hammock over him like a coccoon for warmth and darkness. His room is not very big so the queen bed we had in there took up most of the floor space but a twin is too small for him. The hammock opens up the floor space making the room appear larger (and neater) than before.

Comments about Ramahlo Textiles XL Brazilian Fabric Hammock:

I have owned Select Comfort airbeds since I was in junior high. I spent [$] of my own money on my first one. Then I spent [$]on a king size one while living in Fort Lauderdale. It helped my back for a while but then as always my back would bother me and I would wake up stiff. I was in a car accident several years ago and hurt my neck pretty bad. It's been debilitation and forced me to spend a lot of money of beds and massage units over the years. Anyways, I was getting sick of the pain from this bed and thought how do people all over the world sleep just fine without such an expensive bed. That's when I stumbled onto a study about hammock sleeping. Basically they say the position of you body with head and legs often slightly higher than the rest helps the body fall into a deeper more relaxing sleep. SO AFTER lot OF RESEARCH, I bought this hammock for it's durability. At first I didnt like the material that much. It reminds me of the canvas material used to make paintings. It was extremely comfortable upon set-up. I even slept in it the first night and had some very strange dreams. I felt like I was floating on air. Then I wasn't able to sleep on it again the next night. I couldnt find the right spot and couldnt get my neck to relax. I gave up on it for about 2 weeks, using it periodically to hang out in. Then one day before work, I was pretty tired and happened to pass out in it hard in less than 10 minutes! That was it, I had figured out what I was doing wrong. I wasnt sleeping on it at enough of an angle. I realized you can sleep almost parallel or at least at an angle that allows the body to lay mostly flat. Then all I do is use a small blanket behind me neck that can be adjusted into any position and I sleep like a baby. It's been pretty hot here so I also use a fan blowing under me at night. 2 MAJOR things I noticed. Pain is gone! There is no stiffness at all, because it conforms to your body. No matter what your position, it wraps around you distributing the weight evenly. Like sleeping on air. I notice I sleep more curled up on here as well, it feels too good to be true. I cant wait every night to lay down on this hammock. It's great. Best bed purchase I have made (for me back and neck) yet!

                  Customer Q & A

Q1: I am looking for a stand that will work with XL Brazilian fabric hammock. Can you tell me with stands would work? Thank you!

A: Items USI012 and BY007 - these are adjustable stands and will work with non-spreader bar hammocks.

Q2: how much does this hammock weigh?

A: This hammock weighs approximately 7 lbs.

Q3: Does "hanging distance min" mean that you MUST hang it so that it stretches to that length? thank you!

A: The minimum distance is generally considered the amount of space between trees or when hung on a hammock stand to stretch the hammock and provide enough tension to support someone in the hammock without touching the ground. You could have a shorter space and have the hanging points higher to accommodate but you don't want to put a spreader bar hammock into a small space as your weight would be centered in the middle and the two ends would roll up toward you - not comfy.
