Hammock
Hammock stand, Tree straps
Made from 100% soft, stretchy cotton fabric, this traditional Brazilian hammock is cozy enough for one and spacious enough for two. Many people prefer these hammocks for sleeping and overnight use because they are tightly woven, and feel very secure. These hammocks are solid cloth, so they are not as easily damaged from snags. They are elegant in appearance and can be used indoors or outdoors. Excellent for cooler climates and mild weather use. Hanging hardware sold separately. (Brazilian Hammocks DO NOT have metal reinforced loops at each end.)

I bought this hammock to use in place of my queen size bed. I sleep during the day and work at night. So far it has been a joy to come home to and extremely comfortable. I use a fleece blanket to wrap up in, and a travel neck pillow, with my ipod and headphones throw on some tunes and drift away.
Simply amazing. Very very restful. All my friends wanna come over just to take a nap now. I will definitely be buying a couple more to hang in the backyard for guests and fun.

I trusted the Q/A from the site that said this hammock would fit in the Adjustable Hammock Stand for non-spreader bar hammocks that they sell. It doesn't. Hanging distance on the hammock reads: 14-17ft. and the stand is a max of 14.5ft. so I thought it might be close, but I trusted the sites answer and it was wrong. I wanted this hammock for my deck in the South Bay area, where the nights can be chilly, since it seemed like it would keep out the breeze, but it hangs down to the bar, even when the stand is at max extension. Since I don't have a way to mount it, I had to return the hammock and I'll be purchasing a different hammock that comes with one of the recommended sets. I will buy from this site, since the selection is best, but I was unimpressed with the bad advice. I just wanted to start lounging and the return has delayed that.

Comments about XL Brazilian Fabric Hammock:
I love this hammock. I have both this one, and the one with the decorative fringes. This hammock has been my daily bed for about the past 6 months. It is very large, and very comfortable. I generally sleep with a large "normal" pillow under my knees, and a light blanket covering me. For a head "pillow" I generally pull up a corner of my blanket and place it under my head. This works better than any other head pillow I've tried. The hardest part adjusting to the sleeping in a hammock full-time was temperature control. In the winter, it took a few nights of experimenting before I found the right setting on the radiator heater I had next to me. For people that go hammock camping, under quilts are common, but since this is strictly for home use, I didn't want to bother with it. In the summer I had no problems, and could easily let the temperature climb up to 79 at night without any discomfort (in a bed, I normally needed to keep it about 74-75.After 6 months, there is very little noticeable stretch on the hammock. It has held up very well. When I first purchased it, it did have a "fresh cotton" smell, similar to the smell of silk clothing. This went away within 1-2 days of it hanging.Note, this hammock is very large. Larger than most. You will need a lot of space. To install it, I purchased the largest eye lag bolts sold at [@], and screwed them into studs in the wall or ceiling (pre drilling a pilot hole). I then used a carabiner to connect the hammock to the eye bolt. I have also at times used a rope as a ridge line. If I were to do it again, I'd buy the same lag screw's, but with hooks instead of eye's, and skip the carabiners.Be aware that you need quite a bit of lateral space as well - to get a flat lay, you will be lying diagonally in the hammock. In practice this means you want ~4 feet on either side of the hammock, and about 14 feet between your attachment points. I would not hesitate to buy this hammock again. As mine has been indoors the whole time, I can't comment on how well it would weather outside.

Very plain, no border to see where the sides of the Hammock are which gets frustrating trying to get in and comfortable.

Q1: I am looking for a stand that will work with XL Brazilian fabric hammock. Can you tell me with stands would work? Thank you!
A: Items USI012 and BY007 - these are adjustable stands and will work with non-spreader bar hammocks.
Q2: how much does this hammock weigh?
A: This hammock weighs approximately 7 lbs.
Q3: Does "hanging distance min" mean that you MUST hang it so that it stretches to that length? thank you!
A: The minimum distance is generally considered the amount of space between trees or when hung on a hammock stand to stretch the hammock and provide enough tension to support someone in the hammock without touching the ground. You could have a shorter space and have the hanging points higher to accommodate but you don't want to put a spreader bar hammock into a small space as your weight would be centered in the middle and the two ends would roll up toward you - not comfy.
