Machine Washing
Holding the two hanging end rings in your hands, bring them together, folding the hammock in half. Tie the hammock together with string just below the hanging rings. Tie the hammock together again, at the opposite end, and once more in the middle of the hammock. This should prevent the metal rings from becoming entangled with the string bed of the hammock, and the strings themselves from getting tangled as well. Put the tied up hammock into a pillowcase, and tie the pillowcase closed. Be sure to tie it securely, as the washing machine has rigorous agitation, and you do not want the hammock to come out of the pillow. Use mild detergent to wash. It's important to not use bleach. After washing, carefully remove hammock from pillowcase and untie. Hang up hammock and spread out as much as possible to dry completely.
Hand Washing
Holding the two hanging rings in your hands, bring them together, folding the hammock in half. Tie the hammock together with string just below the hanging rings. Tie the hammock together again, at the opposite end, and once more in the middle of the hammock. This should prevent the metal rings from becoming entangled with the string bed of the hammock, and the strings themselves from getting tangled as well. In a large sink or bathtub, immerse the hammock in water mixed with a mild detergent. It's important to not use bleach. With your hands, agitate the water until you feel the hammock is clean. After washing, carefully untie and unfold the hammock. Hang up hammock and spread out to dry completely.
Storage
After first making sure your hammock is clean and completely dry, hold the two hanging rings in your hands, bring them together, folding the hammock in half. Tie the hammock together with string just below the hanging rings, and again just above the point where the hammock bed begins, to prevent tangling. When storing, it's important to protect against moisture, soiling and critters. The easiest way to prevent these threats to your hammock is to use a storage bag made of outdoor, weather resistant, durable fabric that allows the hammock to breath. If you do not have a storage bag, hang the hammock from its metal rings in your garage or basement, or anywhere it will remain dry and out of the way. If you find any mold or mildew when you bring your hammock out the next season, we recommend using a mild detergent.

Sunday morning, the newspaper, a hot cup of coffee, gently swaying bamboo and my Grand Caribbean Hammock. Who could ask for anything more? When I'm laying in my hammock, listening to birds and feeling the sun on my face, I feel calm and peaceful. Every body should own one!!
I'm 60+ and had no difficulty with getting on or staying on my hammock.
I love the natural color that blends in so beautifully with my tropical Florida landscaping.
Thanks, Hammocks.com, you helped me find alittle bit of Eden.

I paid extra to have "it" mocha, but only the fringe was mocha (actually tan). The hammock is soft & very comfortable, but the color is some sort of streaky indigo. The hammock itself is most unattractive in color, in fact, it's not "a"
color. Its 3 days before Christmas, so what am I supposed to do now. They could have, no, should have mentioned the actual color & what would be "mocha" for the extra money. Even the product picture is completely one color. I have
posted photos of what they gave me for paying twice the price. Save your money! Shop elsewhere.

Comments about Nicaraguan Hammocks Large Grand Caribbean Nicaraguan Hammock with Spreader Bar and Fringe:
I had purchased this hammock, in yellow, 4 years ago and have left it outside ever since. It finally came to an end so I just ordered another one. I had also ordered a red one 2 years ago but that one did not last more than 6 months (in color and structure). Highly recommend this hammock.

It's so very lovely. The workmanship is very nice, the color is beautiful and just brightens us the back yard. So much nicer than the neutral colored ones we've had in the past.

Q1: Hi again! - sorry to trouble you with another question. I have just been looking through reviews on this hammock and notice some have said it doesn't last for more than a few years. If on a verandah under cover and brought out only in summer, how long could one expect it to last?? Is the Brazillian Fabric one with fringe longer lasting?? Many thanks again Regards Angela
A: If you are keeping the hammock on a covered area and brought in for the winter time as well as taking down/in during inclement weather, you will be able to enjoy for several years. It's difficult to give an exact time reference as cotton as a natural material will do some shrinkage and wear over time but with the measures you have in place - it shouldn't be an issue for 3 - 4 years down the road. The fringe is a decorative element and doesn't necessarily impact or determine the actual longevity of the hammock itself.
Q2: what is the length of the Large Nicaraguan Grand Caribbean Spreader Bar Hammock with Fringe Item# HA013...looking for info, but cannot find it. Thank you!

Q3: Do I need additional or alternate hooks for this type of hammock? I already have a Nicaraguan hammock that I purchased in Nicaragua, but I have not been able to hang it. I was considering purchasing the metal stand but am concerned that the standard S-hook kit may not be sufficient to fit the large hole/hook on the Nicaraguan hammock. Thank you for your attention.
A: You have a couple options to hang your hammock. To hang as shown in the image - you will need to purchase tree straps with 2 S Hooks, item# LEV004. If you want to use a stand - since this is a spreader bar Nicaraguan hammock - you can use the metal stand, item HSHS10 + the hanging hardware USI018 to hang via stand.
