Crafted from responsibly harvested shorea wood, this hammock stand is durable enough to withstand all kinds of weather, season after season. Shorea is resistant to mold, mildew, rot, and insects, so this stand will continue to look great year after year. It measures 14.5 feet long and hanging hardware is included. Some assembly is required.

This hammock includes hanging hardware consisting of two extension hooks and one "S" hook.

Its a very pretty piece of wood (well, 6 pieces actually) - coloring is basically rust.

We call it Noah's Ark because its so big. Makes it a little hard to find a hammock, because its not very tall, so you have to pull the hammock very tight so your rear doesnt touch the ground.
The instructions were terrible, but its pretty easy to put together anyway, without a ton of pieces. Even though it is huge, I did it by myself. Great pricing - cheapest on the market and not cheap construction (that I can tell - wood weathers over time...)

I was so excited to get this & I feel disallusioned! If I'd known the construction of this was as grade D as it is I WOULD NOT have bought it! the wood is not solid pieces, it's finger jointed material so after having been in my backyard (Florida weather - hot, sunny & amazing little amount of rain) for less than a month all the wood it swelling & splitting! I'm not sure what to do I am still using it and from a distance this is a nice looking piece, just don't get up close to it to really check it out! I bought it beacuse of the Shorea (a teak variety) but now am considering a Cypress as it claims to be solid plys instead of finger jointed ones. It had NO instructions to seal or finish the wood upon arrival so I did not do that but if you love this & HAVE TO HAVE it then BEFORE you put it OUTSIDE, seal it to within an inch of it's life!

This is a beautiful hammock stand at an incredible price. Looks great and is easy to put together-- with 2 people. It took my husband and me about 30 minutes.

We did have to drill a few holes ---the holes were not all alligned. The 30 minute set up time included extra drilling.

We looked at similar hammock stands and found most were at least$100 more.

I love it.

Just put it together we'll see how well it holds up. Not stained very well patch holes where they missed drilled not covered well. Probably an additional $30 of sanding, staining and weather proofing to get it right. Holes for the metal plate didn't line up had to put it together 3 times to get it close. Directions would have helped if they told you which holes for what size hammock. For the $$ I expected a little better workmanship.

Very happy with this stand. It is the design that my Wife and I had been looking for.
The only issue we have had with it so far is that one end and the bottom have started to come apart where the pieces are glued together. I contacted Hayneedle about the issue. They sent me a replacement and a call tag to send the old one back.

Very happy so far

Q1: This hammock stands looks lovely in the web photo and also looks substantial in stature. Recently ordered a bench via amazon.com made from the same wood species and must admit I was very disappointed in the quality of the bench. What is your opinion of the quality of this hammock stand. I want to purchase it but 300.00 in this economy is a bit much if I have to turn around and send it back due to crappy quality.

A: Thanks for the e-mail/question. We definitely don't want to sell a product that isn't going to meet consumer expectations and you're right on target that $300 is not an insubstantial amount to spend. This hammock stand is one of our top 3 wood sellers and would be our mid-level wood stand. Entry level is KV034, VFA042 is mid, and our top is DP078 (again ranked by sales trend). Shorea wood is typically a great choice for outdoor application as this is just behind teak for longevity and weathering to a beautiful silver grey color as it ages. The stand weighs 110 lbs. so it would definitely meet the substantial part. We encourage you to read the reviews posted from other customers to get a feel for others' take on the manufacturer and the wood construction.
