1. The hammock hanging problem can be resolved in a number of ways, and perhaps the easiest, most common-sense manner to do so is with a pair of hammock posts.

These handy devices fit into a steel sleeve you install in the ground so you can remove it in the off season, mow over it, play touch football and the like.
