The Difference From One Rope Hammock To Another
Some hammocks are made with thin rope cord only 4mm to 6mm wide. Our Island Bay is made with 8mm rope, which is soft spun for comfort. The extreme thickness makes the rope much more durable. Thinner ropes wear out faster and may not hold up to inclement weather conditions. Soft spun 8mm rope cord gives our hammock the greatest amount of quality, comfort, and durability. That is tough to beat.

The product thus far has exceeded expectations. Bought as a valentines day/anniversary gift, my girlfriend LOVED it. The metal stand base went together fast & easy with no tools, although the d-tent pins look a little on the cheap side. The 'teak' finish looks great and the hammock is very comfortable. Hasn't seen but a few minutes of use so I can't speak towards long term durability but it looks good so far.

It stretches out- tons, so you have to stand up repeatily to keep tightening it so you don't skim your rear on the ground (and 170 lbs husband was in there solo)the first few times. Now it's so high off of the ground that it's tough to get in to (I'm 5'5" and have to almost climb up into it). I'm not sure there is a standard knot formation or distance measurement but these feel a little uncomfy on the body compared to the hammock it's replacing...hope that this softens some. It looks nice on it's new stand but it's not getting used by me much.

Bought this as an early Christmas gift for my son-in-law. He loves it!! Shipped extremely fast and all in great condition. He put it together the day he got it and since the weather was cold, set it up in his garage. Sent me pictures of him relaxing!! Said he can't wait for warm weather (which around here won't be until May) LOL Very well worth the price; and in speaking to customer service, they are very friendly and helpful! Added plus!!

A friend of mine had bought one recently and while at their house, my husband and I tested it out. We both fit well and thought it was so comfortable, that we wanted one of our own. So I found the website and ordered one for Christmas. It's a guaranteed win!

The hammock is HUGE, so make sure you have plenty of space. It barely fits onto my little patio. One of my ropes was undone and I couldn't figure out how to weave it back into place the way the rest of it is done, so I just tried my best and tied a knot at the end. It is holding in place but it looks bad. This was a defect and this is why it doesn't get 5 stars. I've only had it a few weeks so I don't know how it's going to hold up, but so far I like it. I almost sent it back because of the undone rope but figured that would be more trouble than it's worth.

Love the hammock. Assembly was frustrating because I couldnt get the hammock to stretch enough to hook onto the frame at first. Now that I've moved past that, I'm very happy. Wish it was just a little bit longer - I'm 6'2" and I sometimes hit my head on the wood beam.
