INDOOR HANGING INSTRUCTIONS

  • Locate a Ceiling Joist by tapping or using a stud finder. The beam must be a solid straight-grained structural joist, usually found every 16 to 18 inches from each other.
  • Vertically drill a 5/16-inch pilot hold in the middle of the joist for the screw to go into.
  • We recommend that you rotate the screw eye in all the way to the eye for best support.
  • Tie the 2 free ends of the chair ropes onto the large S-hook by using an overhand knot.
  • Hang the S-hook onto the screw eye and determine the rope length that suites your ceiling height.
  • The assembled chair should hang approximately 12 to 14 inches from the floor, based on your personal preference.
  • You may need to make some adjustments to the rope until you find the right sitting height to accommodate your own height.
  • Insert the dowels deeply into the boot cups.
  • Get a good book or crossword puzzle and get ready to Relax!

INSTRUCTIONS FOR HANGING THE CHAIR OUTDOORS

  • Tie a separate loop of rope over the tree limb, and drop it down to a height one can reach from the ground.
  • Follow the hanging instructions from the instructions for Hanging the Chair Indoors beginning at Step 3.
  • Once the chair is assembled, hook the large S-hook onto the rope loop of the chair.
  • Some adjustments may need to be made until you find the perfect height for your desired relaxation.
  • You may consider purchasing a Tree Strap & Carabineer Clamp for quick hook-up and release.

    Excellent hammock unfortunately I had to return it only because it was too long. I have a ceiling hook and also a stand hook and neither was high enough. If you don't mind being almost on the ground when you sit in it, it would be an excellent hammock. It was beautifully made and very attractive but unfortunately too long with no adjustment available.

    I purchased the Brazilian Hammock Chair for use on my boat back home in Phuket Thailand. Can't wait to try it out next week when I get home. The only fault that I can find with it is that the wooden spreader bar will have to be refinished so that it will be able to stand up to the tropical weather in Phuket. Or, I'll simply replace the spreader bar with one made of teak. Not a big deal.

    Service and delivery comments:

    Was pleasantly surprised when I had no difficulty using my credit card with an Abu Dhabi, UAE billing address. Four (4) days after placing my order, the Hammock Chair arrived at my office in Abu Dhabi.

            Q1: What are the dimensions of this chair?

            A: Spreader bar length= 39". Length from the hanging point to the bottom of the seat= 63". Depth is approximately 24".

            Q2: I was wondering how easy it is to hang this brazilian cotton fabric hammock chair from a ceiling indoors. Does it come with the hooks to hang it or no?

            A: The chair will require a screw-in eyelet and an "S" hook for hanging - which is not included - but these are readily available at a local hardware store. To hang your chair indoors:

            • Q3: what do you hang the swing chair on if you don't have a tree or the ceiling is not strong enough?

            A: We have a C-Frame Hammock Chair Stand - item# OKC004 - this is available during checkout.

            Q4: If this product is used outside, how do you clean it?

            A: To clean the hammock chair, spot clean with a damp clean soapy sponge, or rag. Leave to air dry and do not put in the washing machine. It can get wet, but to prevent mildew we would recommend you store inside during inclement weather and storms.

            Q5: IS IT IDEAL FOR WHAT FEET OF CEILING

            A: A standard 9 ft ceiling.
